In a world where the lines between day and night blur, where truth often hides in the shadows, I invite you to explore a piece that delves into the ancient wisdom we’ve long neglected.
This poem, ‘Day and Night Burns Bright,’ speaks to the hidden battles we face, the illusions of control, and the profound love that remains our greatest strength.”
Poem:
Day and Night Burns Bright
Published on March 19, 2008
In the twilight where the sun meets the night,
A dance of light and shadow, burning bright.
Beauty, a veil of truth, draped over life’s eternal play,
In the halls of knowledge, where echoes fade away.
Ancient tunes whisper secrets long forgotten,
Melodies of wisdom in a world now rotten.
Life’s once sacred game of survival and grace,
Has turned to a perilous race we all must face.
Questions linger, unanswered by the void,
While truth hides in the ruins, silently destroyed.
Beneath the wooden beams of shattered homes,
Lies knowledge, buried deep in forgotten Times.
A gift once cherished, now withers and dies,
As humanity’s gaze turns away, deaf to the cries.
Why did we never search where wisdom LIED?
Now, the foolish lead, while the wise decay.
Some prey on our ignorance, feeding on our fears,
Programming minds, as the wise shed tears.
Control creeps in, silent as the night,
A plague of deceit, hidden from sight.
They promise safety, with laws in hand,
But the chains they forge are of a darker brand.
Gun control, a shadow in the town’s dark heart,
Yet the danger lies not in steel, but in the art
Of manipulation, of lies spun thick and tight,
As Uncle Sam grins, just out of sight.
He’ll tax your soul, take your child,
And laugh as freedom is slowly defiled.
But fear not, dear one, for fear is their game,
And in your heart lies a flicker, a flame.
Change does not come from the halls of power,
But from within, where our true selves flower.
We are not here to serve, but to understand,
Our nature, our purpose, written in the sand.
The true beauty is not in the fleeting love we chase,
Nor in infatuation’s sweet, blushing face.
It lies in the love of all that breathes and grows,
Of Mother Nature’s embrace, where wisdom flows.
It’s a love that binds us, one to another,
A love that heals, a love like no other.
